Indonesia Reaffirms Political and Humanitarian Support for Palestine

JAKARTA, July 26, 2026 — The Government of Indonesia has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Palestinian people through diplomatic efforts and humanitarian assistance. The statement was delivered by Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono during a bilateral meeting with Palestinian Minister of Social Development Samah Hamad on the sidelines of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meetings in Manila, the Philippines.

During the meeting, Indonesia reiterated that support for Palestine remains a cornerstone of its foreign policy. In addition to advocating for a peaceful resolution through diplomacy, Indonesia reaffirmed its commitment to providing humanitarian assistance to civilians affected by the conflict and supporting reconstruction efforts in the Gaza Strip.

Indonesia also restated its support for the two-state solution as the foundation for achieving a just, peaceful, and lasting settlement in accordance with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.

The bilateral meeting took place amid continued international concern over the humanitarian situation in Palestine. Indonesia emphasized that it will continue working with partner countries and international organizations to advance peace initiatives and expand humanitarian assistance for affected civilian populations.

Indonesia has consistently maintained that it does not have diplomatic relations with Israel and continues to support the establishment of an independent State of Palestine. This position is in line with the principles of Indonesia’s Constitution, which rejects all forms of colonialism and upholds the right of all nations to self-determination.

As of July 26, 2026, the Indonesian government has announced no change to its foreign policy toward Palestine. Minister Sugiono’s remarks represent a reaffirmation of Indonesia’s longstanding official position, delivered during a high-level bilateral engagement in Manila.
